The good news is we, in Virginia, did not see a decline in shipments in 2016.The bad news, we were flat and did not see the increase in volume many of the surrounding states enjoyed. A total of 1070 manufactured homes were shipped in 2017, an increase of 64 houses over 2015 for a 6.4% increase. Nationally, there were 81,169 shipments in 2016 an increase of 15.1% over 2015.
I am optimistic that 2017 will be Virginia’s breakout year. In talking to many of you, all indications are that the continued growth in the Virginia economy will extend into the housing market as well. Please feel free to share by email or telephone what you are seeing from your desk.
